The summer holidays have started.... to celebrate the first day of the summer holidays l have won Mama points this morning already, allowing the boys to have chocolate for breakfast. But not just any chocolate, as a special treat l made chocolate pancakes with the boys.
Pancakes are usually our go to for a Sunday morning breakfast so l blew the boys minds this morning making chocolate pancakes and it's not even Sunday.
This recipe is very simple to follow and a few ingredients are needed. We used cocoa powder for that chocolate taste and l also added a few chocolate chunks as well for that extra flavour.
Being a chocolate lover l found the pancakes fluffy and totally moorish. We served with chocolate sauce and strawberries (they did get 1 of their 5 a day).
Grab the recipe below to make your chocolate pancake stack and let us know what you think.
Enjoy!

Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes Makes: 12 Pancakes
Ingredients
150g of Plain flour
60g of Caster sugar
30g of Cocoa powder
180ml of Milk
2 Eggs
2 tsps of Baking powder
Vegetable oil for cooking
Equipment
Mixing bowl
Fork
Electric whisk
Frying pan
Fish slice
Serving plates
Ladle
Method
In the mixing bowl, place the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and sugar. Using the fork roughly mix the ingredients together and then make a well in the middle of the mixture.
Add the eggs to the well and pour in the milk.
Using the electric whisk on a low setting and beat the ingredients together until a batter texture is formed.
Heat up the vegetable oil in the frying pan and when hot enough, use the ladle to spoon one ladleful of batter for each pancake.
Leave the pancakes to cook in the oil. When air bubbles begin to show on the pancakes, they are ready to be flipped over and cooked on the other side.
When cooked, place in the oven on a low heat until all pancakes are ready and serve with hot chocolate sauce for a taste sensation.
Enjoy!.
