Christmas Reindeer Brownies

FALALALALALALALA! We have 7 days left to the man in the red coat arrives and im just getting a little bit excited, OK so l am very excited. We have been doing activities and visiting different places as well as some festive baking old school style.

I love festive baking!.

I love making anything chocolaty and in the shape of a Christmas object, tree, reindeer, star, sleigh.... so of course the boys and l have been busy making lots of different things so be prepared to be spammed with festive bakes over the next week.

Today we have made some brownies and decorated them as reindeers and they taste scrummy!. see the easy to follow recipe for Christmas reindeer brownies, have a go at making and share with us. Enjoy!

Christmas Reindeer Brownies

Prep time: 20 minutes                    Cook time:    25 minutes        Makes: 8 reindeer brownies


Ingredients


250g of Caster sugar

100g of Butter - melted

100g of Plain flour

200g of Chocolate chunks

80g of Cocoa powder

50g of Light brown sugar

70ml of Vegetable oil

2 Eggs

1 tsp of Vanilla extract

1tsp of Baking powder


For decoration


16 small pretzels for ears

16 googly eyes

8 red smarties for nose


Equipment


9” x 9” circular baking tin

Mixing bowl

Greaseproof paper

Sieve

Whisk

Spatula

Cocktail Stick

Cooling rack


Method


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.

  2. Line the baking tin with the parchment paper.

  3. In the mixing bowls add the cocoa powder and sift in the flour.

  4. Add the brown sugar and caster sugar, baking powder to the flour and whisk together until the ingredients are combined.

  5. Add the vanilla extract, vegetable oil and butter and whisk together to begin to make a smooth batter texture.

  6. One at a time, add the eggs to the chocolate mixture.  TIP! After adding each egg, give the mixture a stir with the whisk.

  7. Add the chocolate chunks.

  8. Ensure the ingredients are combined and form a batter texture.

  9. Pour the brownie mixture into the baking tin evenly, using the spatula.

  10. Place the brownies in the oven for 20 mins to bake.

  11. Check the brownies with a cocktail stick. TIP! You do not want to over bake the brownies, the cocktail stick should be clear.

  12. Once baked leave to cool for 5 minutes in the baking tin and then remove and allow to cool the cooling rack.

  13. When cooled begin to decorate, use the pretzels for ears, and smarties for the nose. Serve when ready.

  14. Enjoy!.
