When both the boys went through the weaning stage at 6 months l liked to batch cook foods for them to try. I would be very adventurous with what they would try to encourage them to like lots of different flavours but also textures. One 'snack'l liked making for the boys was hummus from scratch.
Hummus is very simple to make and this recipe gives you step by step guidance to make the best hummus you have tasted within 10 minutes.
Hummus is obviously not just for little ones, there are so many things we can dip into hummus, cucumber, chunks of cheese, raw carrot, celery to name a few. I like to cut tortilla wraps up in triangles, or pizza slices as the boys call them, spray with oil and place in the oven on a baking tray for 4 mins each side and they are ready to dip.
Hummus is a tasty and refreshing snack or even meal to have in the current hot weather. Why not have a go at making today and let us know what you think. What is your favourite food to dunk in hummus?
Today is National Hummus day ... go on have a go and make your own. It's easy peasy.
Enjoy!.

Use the spatula to ensure all the ingredients are combined.
Pour the hummus into the serving bowl and serve alongside toasted tortilla wraps for a light lunch. If not serving straight way, the hummus can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
