As we now come into the Winter Solstice wouldn't some snow be lovely! We are a family of winter and water sports so snow would be fab to play in.

Unfortunately I don't think there is any snow forecasted, so we have only gone and made our own.

Just kidding... we have made some icing sugar snow and marshmallows to make our own melting snowman biscuits. This activity required just popping to the shop for a few bits and fun was had trying to make them.

Why not have a try yourselves and share your creations below.. Enjoy!

12 Large white marshmallows

8 tbsp of Icing sugar

4 tbsp of cooled boiled water

1 Black icing pen

1 Orange icing pen

1 Packet of smarties

Equipment

Pallete knife

Mixing bowl

Cooling rack

Method

  1. In the mixing bowl place the icing sugar and add a few drops of the cooled boiled water. Mix with the fork and it should begin to make a thick paste. TIP! Do not add too much water as you will make it too watery.

  2. Lay the biscuits out on the cooling rack ready to be iced.

  3. Take the pallet knife and spread icing onto each of the biscuits and leave the icing to set.

  4. With the marshmallows and the icing pens, draw the eyes and carrot nose. Up to you if you want to add mouth.

  5. Place one marshmallow onto each of the iced biscuit and gently press down.

  6. Add the smarties as buttons in front of the head.

  7. When the icing has completely set, use the black icing pen and draw on the arms.

  8. Your snowman should look like he is falling apart.

  9. Serve when ready.

  10. Enjoy!.
