National Cookie Day 4th December 2023

A small bottle of Milk surrounded by cookie cups and cookies
Cookies and Milk

Today is National Cookie day. The day to celebrate the humble, versatile baked good that brings so much happiness. (I think cookies should be enjoyed everyday!. )

Maybe you like a soft in the middle cookie or maybe one with little bit of crunch? Maybe you like cranberries and white chocolate or oats and caramel? The beauty of the cookie is there are so many flavours to enjoy.

I recently visited our little corner bakery and they had made some mince pie cookies which were being enjoyed by all on the taster counter.

With the cookie being so versatile you can change the main flavours throughout the year for celebrations, festivities and seasons. The possibilities are endless.

A COOKIE FACT FOR YOU- Did you know the first Chocolate Chip cookie was made in 1937 and this was made by mistake.

Now in 2023 the cookie has evolved over the years from being added to ice cream with Ben and Jerrys and fruit and nuts being added to them or ingredients like peanut butter, or caramel they really are a treat.

But there is also the different ways it can be enjoyed.

The cookie as we know it, that small circle of soft in the middle goodness, or maybe a serving of cookie pie (my absolute favourite) 🤩 or a filled cookie cup.

With so much choice who doesn’t love a cookie??? Whether eaten whole, enjoyed in small bites or dunked in a cold glass of milk (or tea if you are me). Enjoy!

Share below in the comments what your favourite flavour is?

I’m off to bake some cookies…..
