When l think of doughnuts I think of going to the local pier at the beach, playing in the fair and arcades and then grabbing a bag of a dozen sugary donuts for the journey back to the car. I love donuts, regardless of the flavour so l really wanted to have a go at make these baked donuts with the boys,
A very simple recipe and cooked in just 10 minutes, they can be a quick afternoon treat to make.
With the countdown to valentines day I just had to decorate our donuts in pink and rose icing and decorate with edible rose flowers.
Why not have a go and make yourself.
Enjoy!.

Prep time: 20 minutes Cook time: 12 minutes Makes: 12 donuts

150g of Plain flour
120ml of Milk
110g of Golden caster sugar
20g of Butter - melted
2 Eggs
1 tsp of Baking powder
1 tsp of Vanilla extract
1tbsp of melted butter for the donut baking tin

1 tbsp of Water
Toppings of choice
Equipment
Donut baking tray
Pastry brush
2 Mixing bowls
Electric whisk
Fork
Cooling rack
Bowls for icing and decorations
Method
Preheat the oven to 160C.
Using the melted butter and pastry brush grease the doughnut tin to ensure the donuts do not stick.
In one of the mixing bowls place the flour, sugar, baking powder and using the fork give it a good mix.
In the other mixing bowl whisk together the butter , eggs, milk and vanilla extract until the ingredients are combined.
Add the 2 mixing bowl ingredients together and using the whisk, whisk together on a low setting to combine the ingredients until a batter texture is formed.
Pour the batter into the donut moulds. Do you not need to fill to the top as they will rise.
Place in the oven to bake for 10 minutes until risen and golden in colour.
Leave the donuts to cool for 5 minutes in the tin before taking out and placing on the cooling rack.
When cooled decorate the donuts as you choose.
Enjoy!.
