Peanut butter and flapjacks are the perfect combination when you are in need of something sweet and of course having a sweet tooth l enjoy these and l know you will to.
There are only a few ingredients required to make these and the recipe is easy to follow, they will be ready to serve within 30 minutes. .
The secret to great flapjacks is in how firmly they are pressed into the tin and l personally use a potato masher to press them down.
Everyone is different as to how they like their flapjack.... if you prefer something chewier and harder around the edges then add another 5 minutes cooking time, however if you like soft and crumbly flapjacks then bake for the stated time below in the recipe.
These flapjacks are tasty, full of protein and simple to make...
Enjoy.

Prep time: 10 Minutes Cook time: 25 Minutes Makes: 9 Flapjacks
Ingredients
400g of Porridge oats
200g of Butter
175g of Peanut butter
150g of Brown sugar
150g of Golden syrup
Equipment
9’ x9’ Cake tin
Mixing bowl
Spatula
Greaseproof paper
Saucepan
Fork
Method
Preheat the oven to 160C.
Grease and line the cake tin with the greaseproof paper.
In the mixing bowl place the oats ready to be mixed with the melted ingredients.
With the saucepan on a low heat setting, begin to melt the butter. When the butter is half melted begin to add the peanut butter, brown sugar and golden syrup. Use the spatula to gently stir the mixture to help it to combine.
When all the ingredients have melted and combined together leave to cool slightly before adding to the oats.
Use the spatula to mix the oats and melted peanut butter mixture together, ensure all the oats are covered before pouring into cake tin.
Use the fork ( I use a potato masher) to press the oats firmly and evenly into the cake tin before placing into the oven and baking for 25 minutes.
When taking the flapjacks out of the oven you will notice the edges to turn a golden colour while the centre will wobble slightly. The flapjacks will harden as they cool however if you prefer a crisper flapjack leave in the oven for another 10 minutes to bake.
While the flapjacks are cooling, spread more peanut butter over to melt on top.
Allow the flapjacks to cool on the side. When warm use a knife to score lines where you will cut the flapjacks when they are completely cooled.
Place in the fridge until ready to serve.
Enjoy!.
