To me salted caramel is the ultimate sweet fix and l enjoy making my own salted caramel. There are many variations of making salted caramel. You can use cream, water or milk to increase the sweetness. In this salted caramel recipe l am using milk.
When l was a child l used to make salted caramel with my Nana. In her recipe l just remember a volcano moment when she added the milk to the other ingredients and l remember thinking how clever it was and then she would be whisking furiously so it did not hardened.
This recipe is simple to follow and the salted caramel is delicious. You are able to add as little or as much sea salt as you like, this is a personal preference.
I have made this salted caramel for our salted caramel tartlets we will be making in the week so look out for this recipe.
Enjoy!.

Prep time: 5 Minutes Cook time: 5 Minutes Makes: 1 portion
Ingredients
200g of Granulated sugar
115g of Butter
60ml of Milk
1 tsp of Vanilla extract
1/2 tsp of Sea salt
Equipment
Large saucepan
Wooden spoon

Small bowl
Method
In the saucepan place the butter and melt it on a low heat. Once the butter is beginning to melt add the sugar and milk. Stir continuously until the milk is boiling. While stirring you will notice the sugar will dissolve and the caramel will begin to form.
Add the sea salt and vanilla giving a further mix.
Once cooled enough transfer to the jar, ready to use.
Keep in the fridge until required.
Enjoy!.
