To spook or not to spook?

From an early age I remember going trick or treating with my elder siblings. I remember the home made costumes we would have made together beforehand and my oldest brother thinking he looked so cool when he so didn't. Trick or treating being the talk of the playground and sharing what you were going as.
On Halloween evening, my mum would line us up and give us our safety briefing, we knew whose door we were not allowed to knock in fear of scaring them and giving them a possible heart attack. We would be handed our carrier bag (would have been a TESCO one) to collect any goodies we got and sent on our way.

I loved Halloween growing up, dressing up, meeting friends and not knowing when you knock the door are you going to get a trick or treat? (or maybe told to “sod off”) I don’t ever remember getting a trick but I do remember all the treats.
Once home we would empty out our swag on the table and begin a game of ‘swapsies’.
Now as a Mama myself I love to take my boys trick or treating, they choose their costumes, we get ready and set off for an hour before home, tea and bed. Being the bad Mama who won’t let them have anything before bed.
But l have to say as l have got older and before children, my hubby and l would love to decorate the house for halloween. Our home has been a grave yard, massive spiders webs, pumpkin farm, floating ghosts and witches lair.
Every year we plan our theme for Halloween and begin collecting the goodies. We have a box marked halloween in the garage full of halloween props and decorations and i’m getting itchy fingers to decorate the house ready for the 31st.
I know halloween in general, children going trick or treating is a personal preference. Today out and about shopping for goodies to decorate the house I was screaming when a clown jumped out of a box as l edged around the corner. Some things would defiantly give George down the road, a heart attack or my children nightmares.
So guys the question is would a murder scene be too much this year?
